Scott Sherrow PE served as the project manager/principal in charge for the design and engineering services for the 60-acre school facility project. The project is located in Meridian, Idaho adjacent to the Paramount Subdivision.
Project tasks included assisting in the pre-planning process with the project's architect to develop a conceptual plan constant with the client needs. The project team, in conjunction with the owner and the architect worked closely with the adjacent residential communities and the City of Meridian to properly address project concerns to gain the communit's support.
Project surveying tasks included coordinating the project's topographic, boundary survey needs, preparation, assorted site legal descriptions, and construction staking.
Engineering design services included surface parking lot design, sports field design (tennis, track, football, baseball, softball, & soccer), public and private roadway design, public utility improvements, and private pressure irrigarion system.
The school district was particularly concerned with the project's site grading and drainage design due to the lack of performance at other district facilities. The design team toured existing of district facilities and discussed with the district in detail the approach to grading the site and managing storm water runoff. A drainage system approach was developed that was economical, efficient as well as redundant to meet the district requirements. The design included a designated and non-intrusive overflow routes to assist in managing large storm event runoff without impacting operations.
